July 2014
The weather we had this summer did not allow us to climb many classic routes. It rained a lot and it was quite cold. But in July we had a small break from this strange weather and we chose to go in Piatra Craiului National Park to climb some classic routes. We chose Turnurile Dianei (Diana Towers) area, because it was dry and with good solid rock. Together with Laura, my partner from this day, we climbed Fisura Cenusie 4B, a 4 pitch route. On the top we congratulate each other and admire the beautiful panorama of Tara Barsei. After 3 pitches of abseiling we are back at the base of the towers.
“Should we try one more?”, of course and we start another route, Frontalul 4A. Four more pitches take us again on the top of the Yellow Tower. We enjoy the silence, the good and clear air, beautiful landscapes and we get ready to go back. After 2 pitches of abseiling and half an hour hike we are back at Diana Shelter and we can admire the towers in evening light.
